CHITRAL: Chitral is the “most” peaceful and scenic area of Pakistan, having a rich culture and traditions, said Robin Raphel, USAID Country Director, on Saturday.
He was speaking at the quarter-final of the polo tournament of the Qaqlasht Festival, organised by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Corporation in collaboration with Chitral Association for Mountain Areas Tourism.
He stressed the need for concrete steps to promote tourism while preserving the rich culture of Chitral.
The sports festival included freestyle polo, football, volleyball, cricket, hockey, marathon races, a tug of war, shooting competition, cultural show and dances.
A large number of local people, along with domestic and foreign tourists are participating in the event.
